mallen-wooden-coat-rack-multi
Mallen Wooden Coat Rack - Multi

Description

Our Mallen coat rack turns a strip of wall into a small safari. A giraffe, a snake curled over an elephant, a zebra and a parrot riding on a lion stand in a row along a plywood rail, with a half-round panel rising behind them like a low sun. Four tapered pegs are fitted into the animals' bodies, giving somewhere to hang a coat, a bag or a sun hat. It is made of plywood and iron, measures 40cm long, 6cm wide and 20cm tall, and weighs 0.332KG, so it is a light, slim piece that fits beside a door or above a small chest of drawers without crowding the wall.

This is a rack for a child's bedroom, nursery or playroom, where it gives a small person's coat, cardigan, school bag or dressing-up cape a place of its own. A little cardigan on a hanger hangs neatly from one peg, and the animal figures make putting things away feel more like a game than a chore. It works just as well in a family hallway as the spot where the children's things go, keeping their coats apart from the grown-ups' hooks. Because it is multicoloured, it sits happily with warm wood, woven baskets and painted walls alike, and it makes a cheerful gift for a new nursery.

The animals and the rail are cut from plywood and finished in water based paint, which gives the figures a soft, matt look, and the layered edges of the plywood show along the cut outlines. It is fixed to the wall, and the maker's assembly instructions come as a PDF download, so you can see how it goes up before you start. For styling, hang it at a height your child can reach, leave a little space either side so the giraffe and the parrot are not crowded, and let one favourite coat or bag stay on show.

Specification

Width

40cm

Depth

6cm

Height

20cm

Material

Plywood, Iron

Colour

Multi

Finish

Water based paint

Weight

0.332KG

Downloads

Assembly instructions (PDF)

Frequently Asked

What is the coat rack made of?

It is made of plywood and iron, and it is finished in water based paint, which gives the animal figures a soft, matt look.

How big is the Mallen coat rack?

It is 40cm long, 6cm wide and 20cm tall, and it weighs 0.332KG, so it is a light piece that suits a small stretch of wall.

How many hooks does it have?

It has four tapered pegs, each fitted into one of the animals, ready for a coat, a bag, a cardigan or a hat.

Which animals are on it?

There is a giraffe, a snake curled over an elephant, a zebra and a parrot riding on a lion, with a half-round panel rising behind them like a low sun.

How do I put it up?

It fixes to the wall, and the maker's assembly instructions come as a PDF download, so you can read them through before you start.

Which rooms does it suit?

It is made for a child's bedroom, nursery or playroom, and it also works in a family hallway as the place where the children's coats and bags go.
