maien-plain-stoneware-vases-14cm-set-of-7-multi
Maien Plain Stoneware Vases 14cm Set of 7 - Multi

Description

This is a set of seven small stoneware vases, multicoloured as a group, with each one glazed in its own shade. The size given is 7cm across and 14cm tall, which makes them bud vases rather than anything meant to fill a sideboard. The seven come in two silhouettes: three are taller bottles with long, narrow necks, and four are short and round-shouldered with a stubby neck. Stoneware is fired hard and dense, and together these read like a small family of old apothecary bottles.

They are happiest on display. Line all seven along a mantelpiece, a windowsill or a bookshelf, or split them up so a hallway shelf, a bedside table and a desk each get one or two. The narrow necks suit a single dried stem, a sprig of seed heads or a faux branch, and they look just as good left empty as small sculptural shapes. Grouped in a glass-fronted cabinet or set on a stack of books, the two heights give a row some rhythm, tall against short. They also make an easy housewarming gift for someone who likes colour but not clutter.

Each vase is 100% stoneware under a glossy glaze. The maker notes that, due to the nature of the glaze, colour variations may occur, so the shade of each vase may differ slightly from one to the next. We see that as part of the charm, since no two runs of glaze settle quite the same way. The listed weight is 1KG. For styling, mix the shinier finishes with the softer, speckled ones, keep the tall three at the back and the short four at the front, and leave a finger's width between them so each shape reads clearly. The styling props shown are not included.

Specification

Height

14cm

Diameter

7cm

Sold as

Set of 7

Material

100% Stoneware

Colour

Multi

Finish

Due to the nature of the glaze colour variations may occur

Weight

1KG

Frequently Asked

What are the vases made of?

They are made of 100% stoneware, finished in a glossy glaze, with each of the seven vases in its own shade.

How big are the vases?

The size given is 7cm across and 14cm tall.
