The balls are packed several rows deep across the face, so the ring reads as texture rather than as a line, and the gaps between them let the wall show through. The brass finish is warm and slightly uneven, catching on the outside of each ball and staying dark in the hollows between them.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eIt is made to hang, on a wall or a door, where the packed balls throw a broken shadow rather than a sharp one.
