At the shoulder the glaze breaks into a pale crusted band that runs down over the terracotta in places. The surface is glossy and the brush marks stay visible under it.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe mouth is narrow, so this takes a few stems rather than a bunch: a short spray of eucalyptus, a handful of dried grasses, or three or four garden flowers cut low. At 17.5cm it stays below eye level on a shelf or a mantelpiece, and on a dining table it sits under the line of sight across it.
