loopi-bamboo-curtain-beige
Loopi Bamboo Curtain - Beige

Description

Our Loopi curtain swaps the usual beads for rings: long strands of linked rings hang side by side from a straight bar, falling loose so they part as you pass and swing back into place. It measures 90cm across and 200cm tall, a size suited to a doorway or a tall opening, and it is made from 80% bamboo and 20% acacia. At 1KG it is light for something so long. The beige rings are broken by bands of contrasting rings through the centre, and the strands end at different lengths, so the lower edge dips into soft points rather than one straight line.

Its natural home is a doorway: between a hall and a bedroom, at the entrance to a utility room or across a door left open on a warm day, it marks the edge of a room without closing it. Light and air pass, and the view behind it softens rather than disappears, which makes it a good answer for an opening that has lost its door or never had one. It works as well as a divider in an open-plan space, in front of an alcove, or across open shelving or a clothes rail to screen it. It suits anyone drawn to natural materials and a relaxed, textured look.

Each ring is formed from fine wound strands, and the rings link one into the next, giving the curtain depth and texture up close. The strands hang free from the top bar, which has a small loop at each end for hanging. Bamboo is a natural material, so expect slight differences in tone from ring to ring. For the best effect, hang it in a frame painted a deep colour or against a plain wall, where the beige rings and the contrasting bands both read clearly, and let it fall without a tieback so the uneven hem can do its work.

Specification

Width

1cm

Length

90cm

Height

200cm

Material

80% Bamboo, 20% Acacia

Colour

Beige

Weight

1KG

Frequently Asked

What is the curtain made of?

It is made from 80% bamboo and 20% acacia, formed into long strands of linked rings that hang from a straight bar along the top.

How big is it?

It measures 90cm across and 200cm tall, a size suited to a doorway, an alcove or a tall opening in an open-plan room.

How heavy is it?

It weighs 1KG, which is light for a curtain 200cm tall and makes it easy to lift into place and take down again.

How does it hang?

The top bar has a small loop at each end for hanging it from a pair of hooks or nails in the frame or wall; fixings are not stated as included.

Is it all one colour?

The rings are beige, with bands of contrasting rings running through the centre, and as a natural material the bamboo varies slightly in tone from ring to ring.

Can I walk through it?

Yes.
