lester-aluminium-wall-hook-brass
Lester Aluminium Wall Hook - Brass

Description

Lester is a small wall hook in the shape of a cat climbing the wall. Its front paws are raised above its head, and a long tail sweeps out from beneath it and curls over at the tip. That tail is the hook itself: whatever you hang settles into the bend where it leaves the body. It is made of aluminium with a brass plated, lacquered finish. The whole surface is textured with stripes and markings, so the brass colour catches the light unevenly and looks like older metalwork. At 5.5cm long, 7cm wide and 9cm tall it is a compact piece, and at 0.07KG it is very light, as aluminium is.

The maker gives it a maximum load of 3KG, so it is a hook for the lighter things of everyday life: a scarf, a hat, a tote bag, a dog lead, a light jacket or a dressing gown hung by its loop. It suits a hallway by the front door, a bedroom wall for tomorrow's bag, the kitchen for a tea towel or the bathroom for a hand towel. Its small size means it fits a narrow strip of wall, beside a door frame or on the side of a wardrobe. A single cat brings a little humour to a plain wall without taking it over. It makes a thoughtful small gift for anyone who loves cats.

It fixes flat to the wall with two screws that pass through the cat's body, their heads sitting among the markings of its coat. The maker's assembly instructions come as a PDF download. The brass plating is finished with a coat of clear lacquer. For styling, set a few in a row along a hallway at slightly different heights so they look as if they are climbing together. Or let one sit alone against a soft painted wall, where the warm brass shows at its best.

Specification

Width

7cm

Depth

5.5cm

Height

9cm

Material

100% Aluminium

Colour

Brass

Finish

Brass plated, Lacquered

Maximum load

3KG

Weight

0.07KG

Downloads

Assembly instructions (PDF)

Frequently Asked

What is the Lester hook made of?

It is made of aluminium with a brass plated finish that is then lacquered.
