It is long and slim, 106.6cm wide and just 1.5cm in diameter, so it draws a fine, straight line through a room rather than adding bulk. That narrow profile is much of its appeal. A union of this length lets a Kupetz arrangement cover a generous run while the overall look stays light, graphic and uncluttered, which is exactly what you want from a linear piece like this.

It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only: living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms, studies, hallways and landings all suit it well. It is a good choice for anyone planning a lighting layout with a clear, architectural line, whether that means a long run over a dining table, a measured line above a sideboard or a calm horizontal through an open-plan living space. Because a Kupetz layout is put together from separate pieces, this union is one part of a larger plan, so it is worth sketching the whole arrangement before you order and deciding where each length should sit in the room.

It is a Class I part, which means it is an earthed design, and as a piece of a lighting system it is for a qualified electrician to install. The Kupetz design is by e27 and Tim Brauns, who gave it a pared-back, linear character that sits comfortably in both modern and more traditional homes. Before you order, measure the run you have in mind: at 106.6cm wide it needs a clear stretch of just over a metre, and its 1.5cm diameter keeps it discreet from almost any angle in the room. The Kupetz light head in our photographs is not included.

Specification

Width

106.6cm

Diameter

1.5cm

IP Rating

IP20

Protection Class

Class I

Lead time

Made to order, usually delivered in 4 to 8 weeks

Frequently Asked

What is the Kupetz Linear 15 Union?

It is a union for our Kupetz range, a slim connecting length that a Kupetz layout is built along, measuring 106.6cm wide and 1.5cm in diameter.

How big is the Kupetz Linear 15 Union?

It measures 106.6cm wide and just 1.5cm in diameter, so it forms a long, fine line that takes up very little visual space in a room.

Which rooms can the Kupetz union go in?

It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only, such as living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms, studies, hallways and landings.

Does the Kupetz union need an electrician to install it?

Yes.
