The wood carries an ash stain, a pale grey that sits into the grain and leaves the darker figure of the mango showing through. A rust coloured cord runs from the foot with a switch on it.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThis is a base only: no shade and no bulb. At 53cm it is tall for a table base, which puts a shade beside an armchair at reading height rather than at bedside height, and at 17cm across the foot it stays out of the way on a side table. The turned spindles throw their own shadows down the column with the lamp off.
