The lid is cut from a single block of mango wood: a round plug that drops into the neck, a square flange that sits down on the rim, and a raised loop above it with an oblong cut out through the middle to take a finger. The glass carries a faint green cast at the foot.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eAt 1850ml this is the larger of the two Kitto jars, and it is made for the front of an open shelf rather than the back of a cupboard, where what is inside shows through the glass. The wooden lid has an airtight seal and the jar is for dry food only, so grains, pulses, pasta and coffee are what it is built around.
