It hangs from a printed sari tie knotted to the band at two points, so the tie rises from either side of the rim to a single point above the mirror. The brass is uneven in tone, dark in places and bright in others, and the weld marks where the band was joined are left showing.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe tie is the only fixing, so the mirror hangs from a single hook or nail rather than sitting on a wall plate. At 38cm it is a mirror for checking a face rather than a room, which puts it in a cloakroom, on a hallway wall beside a door, or over a chest of drawers.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe band is brass and the glass is plain. The metal is soldered round the glass with hand tools, and the marks at the joins are left on every piece rather than filed away.
