kiko-8-x-10-landscape-photo-frame-antique-brass
Kiko 8 x 10 Landscape Photo Frame - Antique Brass

Description

The Kiko is a landscape photo frame, 26cm wide and 20cm high, made from two panes of glass held in a soldered brass edge. It takes an 8 x 10 inch picture, and because there is glass at the front and at the back the picture is seen through glass from either side. The brass border is only a few millimetres wide, so what reads on the wall is the picture and a thin brass line around it.

It hangs rather than stands, from a printed sari tie strung between two small loops at the top corners. That suits a picture rail, a hook or a row of nails rather than a shelf, and because the tie carries the drop the frame sits below its fixing rather than level with it. The glass back means anything flat will sit in it, so postcards, tickets and drawings go in as readily as a photograph, and at 26cm wide it is large enough to hang on its own rather than only in a group.

The frame is glass and brass. The metal is soldered around the glass by hand with traditional tools, which leaves weld marks at the joins, and these are left as they come. Each sari tie is cut from a different length of recycled fabric, so no two are alike. The Kiko frames are made in several picture sizes and in both orientations, and this is the 8 x 10 inch landscape.

Specification

Height

20cm

Width

26cm

Depth

1cm

Aperture

8 x 10 inches

Material

Glass & Brass

Finish

Antique Brass

Orientation

Landscape

Wall Hung

Yes

Weight

0.854kg

Frequently Asked

What size picture does it take?

An 8 x 10 inch picture, in landscape.

How does it hang?

From a printed sari tie strung between two loops at the top corners.

Is there glass on both sides?

Yes.
