kervarne-solar-spike-light-set-of-5-stainless-steel
Kervarne Solar Spike Light Set of 5 - Stainless Steel

Description

This is a set of five solar spike lights. Each one is a slim stainless steel cylinder 20cm tall and 4.7cm in diameter, with a small solar panel set into the top, a clear plastic shade with fine vertical ribs and a black spike at the base. The light source in each one is an integrated solar LED of 0.06W, so there are no bulbs to buy or change. The LED is not replaceable, though, which is worth knowing before you choose. The brushed stainless steel body gives the set a clean, simple look, and five matching lights are enough to make a proper line of light rather than a single point.

Because the panel charges from daylight, there is no wiring and no plug to arrange, so the lights can go wherever the sun reaches them. As general guidance, they do best in an open, sunny spot, clear of anything that casts a shadow across the panel. The spike sits 10cm deep in soft soil and holds each light upright, and you can lift it out again whenever you want to rearrange the set. Five lights give you plenty of choice: space them out to mark a line, or group them close together for a brighter cluster. They suit anyone who wants a little light after dark without running power to the spot.

Each light runs on a 2/3 AAA nickel-metal hydride battery of 100mAh, and the run time is given as 6 to 8 hours. There is an on/off switch, so you can turn the lights off when you would rather they stayed dark, or while the set is in storage. The set weighs 0.57KG packed. Stainless steel resists rust, so the body keeps its brushed finish season after season. To keep the lights at their best, brush dust and dirt from each panel so it catches as much daylight as it can.

Specification

Height

20cm

Diameter

4.7cm

Body Material

Stainless steel

Body Colour

Stainless steel

Shade Material

Plastic

Shade Colour

Transparent

Light Source

Solar LED, integrated

Wattage

5 x 0.06W

Features

LED not replaceable

Switch

On/off switch

Run Time

6–8 hours

Battery

5 x 2/3 AAA;NI-Mh;100mAh

Protection Class

Class III

Recess Depth

10cm

Weight (packed)

0.57KG

Frequently Asked

How long does each light stay lit?

The run time is given as 6 to 8 hours.
