kenema-wall-clock-69-5cm
Kenema Wall Clock 69.5cm

Description

The Kenema is a large round wall clock, 69.5cm across, made from metal and glass. Its frame has an antique silver tone, and the dial is full of texture: raised Roman numerals sit on panels around the edge, fine lines radiate between them, and the centre opens up to show a cluster of gear wheels picked out in grey and a warm brass tone. Slim black hands sweep across the face, so the time stays easy to read against all that silver. At this size it fills a wall properly rather than looking lost.

We see it working best as the main piece on a broad wall indoors: above a sideboard, a console table or a fireplace, at the end of a long hallway, or in an open-plan kitchen and dining room where it can be read from across the room. The exposed gear centre suits a loft or warehouse look, while the Roman numerals and silver frame sit just as happily in a more traditional living room. If you have a large stretch of plain wall and want one piece to anchor it, a clock this size does that and keeps the time as well.

The clock weighs 7KG, which is worth knowing before you choose its spot: a weight like that wants a sturdy fixing in a solid wall rather than a small picture hook in plasterboard. It runs on three AA batteries, also known as LR6, and the batteries are not included, so we suggest picking up a set at the same time. That way the clock is ready to hang and set as soon as it is unpacked, and when the time comes, a fresh set of three AA batteries keeps it going.

Specification

Material

Metal, Glass

Details

Batteries not included

Width

8cm

Diameter

69.5cm

Weight

7KG

Battery

AA/LR6

Battery Count

3

Frequently Asked

How big is the Kenema wall clock?

It measures 69.5cm across and weighs 7KG, so it is a large clock that suits a broad wall where it has room to be seen.

Which batteries does the clock need?

It takes three AA batteries, also sold as LR6.
