The glass carries a lustre finish, a thin iridescent film that takes it from clear at the rim to a warm smoky gold across the shoulder and shifts as you move around it. The lampholder is brass and hangs inside on a visible stem. This is the large: 46.5cm tall and 31cm across.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eLustre changes what a clear pendant does. The film is thin enough to see the bulb through but dense enough to tint what passes, so the light leaves warmer than it went in and the glass itself holds colour when the lamp is off. Straight sides mean most of that light goes downward out of the open base rather than sideways, which makes it a fitting for over a table or an island rather than for lighting a room. At 46.5cm it needs height above it.
