jesus-on-cross-hand-painted-resin-figurine-26cm-brown
Jesus on Cross Hand Painted Resin Figurine 26cm - Brown

Description

This hand-painted resin figurine of Jesus on the cross is a quiet, devotional piece for a shelf or mantelpiece in the home. The cross is painted a rich wood brown, with grain and split ends picked out so it reads like old timber, and a small cream scroll at the top carries the letters INRI. The figure of Christ is painted in soft natural tones with a pale draped cloth, and at the foot of the cross a cluster of coral-red roses and green leaves sits on a grey, rock-like base. It stands 26cm tall, 11.5cm wide and 7.5cm deep, a size that suits a bookcase, a bedside table or a small prayer corner without crowding it.

Its own base means it stands by itself, so there is no hook or fixing to think about: it simply rests on a mantel, a windowsill, a cabinet or a dresser. We think it makes a thoughtful gift for a first Holy Communion or a confirmation, marking the day with a piece that can be kept in a bedroom for years to come. It sits just as well in a family home as a daily sign of faith, whether in a hallway, a living room or on a small home altar.

The figurine is made in polyresin and painted by hand, so the shading on the cross, the figure and the roses carries the small variations that come with a brush. To keep it looking its best, dust it gently with a soft dry cloth, and use a lightly damp cloth for any marks rather than a harsh cleaner. For a Communion or confirmation gift, add a card for the day; on a shelf at home, set it at eye level, where the face of Christ and the INRI scroll can be seen clearly.

Specification

Material

Polyresin

Colour

Brown

Finish

Handpainted

Height

26cm

Width

11.5cm

Depth

7.5cm

Weight

0.324kg

Occasion

Confirmation, Communion

Frequently Asked

How big is the Jesus on the cross figurine?

It stands 26cm tall, 11.5cm wide and 7.5cm deep, so it fits comfortably on a mantelpiece, a bookcase shelf or a bedside table.

What is the figurine made of?

It is made in polyresin and painted by hand, from the wood-brown cross and the figure of Christ to the roses at its base.

Does it stand up on its own?

Yes, it stands on its own rock-like base with roses at the foot of the cross, so it sits on any flat surface such as a shelf, mantel or cabinet.

What do the letters at the top of the cross say?

The small cream scroll at the top of the cross carries the letters INRI, the traditional inscription placed above Christ on the cross.

Is it a good gift for a Communion or confirmation?

We think it makes a thoughtful gift for a first Holy Communion or a confirmation, and a keepsake for a bedroom or a small home altar.

How should I clean it?

Dust it gently with a soft dry cloth; for any marks, a lightly damp cloth is kinder to the hand-painted finish than a harsh cleaner.
