The rim is left untrued, so it rises and dips slightly around the circle. Each one is finished by hand, so the two in a set carry the dark band at slightly different heights.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eA tealight sits down inside the bowl rather than on top of it, so at 5cm the flame is below the rim and the light comes up through the pale upper band instead of out sideways. The glass reads grey unlit and warm once the candle is in.
