izumo-ceramic-vase-orange
Izumo Ceramic Vase - Orange

Description

The Izumo Ceramic Vase is a rainbow arch in matt orange ceramic, a soft shade that leans towards peach rather than a bright citrus. Two flat arched walls stand side by side with a narrow hollow between them, and the front has a stepped arch cut through its centre, its ridges framing the gap like a doorway. It measures 20.5cm long, 15cm high and 6.5cm wide, so it sits comfortably on a narrow ledge. The opening along the top is 13cm long, which lets you fan stems across the width of the arch instead of bunching them in one spot.

We like it on a console table, a hallway shelf, a mantelpiece or a bedroom windowsill, anywhere a low, wide shape suits better than a tall vase. It is made for artificial and dried flowers only, so it suits anyone who wants an arrangement that stays put: pampas grass, dried lavender, bunny tails or artificial eucalyptus fanned through the slot, with no water to change. The earthy orange sits well against warm neutrals, natural wood and cream walls, bringing a little colour to a room without shouting. It holds its own empty too, as a sculptural piece between books or beside a lamp.

The vase is ceramic, finished in a soft matt surface with a fine, faintly grainy feel that takes the light gently rather than shining. Ceramic is hard and holds its shape, though like any ceramic it can chip if it is knocked against stone or tile, so give it a spot away from busy edges. It weighs 0.87KG, a satisfying weight in the hand for its size. Keep it indoors and keep water out of it, in line with its use for artificial and dried flowers only. For an easy start, trim dried stems so they rise well clear of the arch and spread them along the full length of the opening.

Specification

Colour

Orange

Opening

13cm

Material

Ceramic

Length

20.5cm

Width

6.5cm

Height

15cm

Weight

0.87KG

Use

For artificial and dried flowers only

Frequently Asked

Can I put fresh flowers and water in the Izumo vase?

No, this vase is intended for artificial and dried flowers only, so we would keep water out of it and fill it with dried stems or artificial blooms instead.

How big is the Izumo Ceramic Vase?

It is 20.5cm long, 15cm high and 6.5cm wide, with an opening along the top that measures 13cm long, and it weighs 0.87KG.

What shape is the opening?

The stems go into a long slot between the two arched walls, so a dried arrangement fans out along the arch instead of gathering in a single round neck.

What colour and finish does it have?

It is orange, a soft and earthy shade close to peach, with a matt ceramic surface that has a fine texture and very little shine.

Which rooms suit this vase best?

It is an indoor piece that works well on a console table, mantelpiece, hallway shelf or bedroom windowsill, where its low arch shape has room to show.
