ivette-round-marble-tray-grey
Ivette Round Marble Tray - Grey

Description

This round tray is made from 100% marble: a low, shallow piece of grey stone with a straight, upright rim circling the whole edge. It measures 20cm across and 4cm tall, which makes it a compact tray, sized for a small cluster of things rather than a whole display. Marble is a natural stone, so the veining differs from one piece to the next, and ours shows streaks and flecks in deeper and lighter tones of grey across the base and the outer wall. No two trays look quite alike, which is much of the charm.

At 20cm across, it suits the places where space is tight: a windowsill, a bedside table, a narrow shelf or the middle of a coffee table. The upright rim keeps small things gathered, so it works as a catch-all for keys, rings or loose change by the front door, or as a stand for a jar candle with a few shells or pebbles around it. On a kitchen shelf it sits comfortably among stoneware and wooden boards as a piece for display. It suits anyone who likes natural materials and a calm, pared-back look.

The tray weighs 1.5KG, which is substantial for its size: it sits firmly wherever it is placed and is not easily nudged or tipped. The inside base is flat and wide, leaving generous room within the rim, and the outer wall is straight, so the veining shows on every side. Marble is a fairly soft, porous stone, so it can mark if something wet or oily is left standing on it for long, and it rewards a gentle hand. For styling, group a few small objects of different heights on it, perhaps a candle, a sprig of dried stems and a smooth stone, and let the grey veining tie them together.

Specification

Height

4cm

Diameter

20cm

Material

100% Marble

Colour

Grey

Weight

1.5KG

Frequently Asked

What is the tray made of?

It is made of 100% marble, a natural stone, so the grey veining varies a little from one tray to the next and each one is individual.

How big is the tray?

It is 20cm across and 4cm tall, a compact size that fits neatly on a windowsill, a bedside table or the centre of a coffee table.

How heavy is it?

It weighs 1.5KG, so it feels solid in the hand and stays put on a shelf or table rather than sliding when knocked.

What can I use it for?

It makes a tidy home for keys, rings or loose change, a stand for a jar candle, or a display base for shells, pebbles and dried stems.

Does anything else come with the tray?

You receive the round marble tray on its own; the styling props shown are not included.
