The bowl is built up from solid pieces of mango wood before it is turned, and the joins show as lines running round it. The grain changes direction across every join, so pale honey, grey and olive streaks sit side by side on one face.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eSeventeen centimetres deep against 33cm across gives a capacity of 7 litres, so it holds a salad that can be turned over inside it without going over the rim, or a whole bowl of fruit standing on a counter. At 1.32kg it lifts full and carries to a table.
