It stands on two trestle ends, each a pair of legs splayed out below a cross member, joined the length of the table by one low stretcher. The two trestle ends stand 164cm apart, so chairs go anywhere along the long sides without meeting a leg, and the 8cm overhang leaves somewhere for a chair to be pulled up at the ends as well. The underside of the top sits about 73cm from the floor. Mango is grown first for its fruit and the trees are felled only once they have stopped bearing, which is what puts the timber into use at all.
