iligan-metal-candle-holder-black
Iligan Metal Candle Holder - Black

Description

The Iligan is a black metal candle holder with an open, faceted shape that is wider than it is tall. Fine black wires run from a narrow top out to a broad middle and back in to a narrow base, so the outline reads like two shallow bowls joined at the rim. It stands 15.5cm tall and 20cm in diameter, holds a pillar candle within its wirework, and lets the flame show through the gaps between the strands. The black finish is a deep, plain colour that sits comfortably beside wood, linen and stone.

This is a piece for indoors, at home on a coffee table, a side table, a sideboard or a deep windowsill in a living room, dining room or bedroom. At 20cm across it wants a little surface to itself, and at 15.5cm tall it stays low enough to sit in the middle of a dining table without getting between the people around it. It suits anyone who lights a candle in the evening and wants the holder to look just as good during the day, because the wire frame keeps its shape and outline whether or not a flame is lit. Its black colour works as easily in a pale, airy room as in a darker, cosier one.

Each Iligan is handmade, so every piece is unique: expect small variations from one holder to the next, which is the mark of work shaped by hand rather than stamped by a machine. It weighs just 0.35KG, light enough to carry from the dining table to a shelf as the evening calls for it. Because the frame is open, you can see at a glance how much candle is left, so you always know when a fresh one is due.

Specification

Colour

Black

Material

Metal

Details

Handmade: every piece is unique

Height

15.5cm

Diameter

20cm

Weight

0.35KG

Frequently Asked

Can the Iligan candle holder go outdoors?

We describe it as an indoor piece.
