The door hangs on two iron hinges and shuts on a slim iron handle, with a small turn catch above it and another below. The four corner posts run past the base to make short feet.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eInside there are two fixed shelves, which divide the height into three. The slats are open rather than solid, so what stands on the shelves is half visible through the door. At 100cm high and 70cm wide it is taller than it is wide and takes only 40cm of depth against a wall, and the top stands at the end of a sofa with room for a lamp and books.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe wood is salvaged from decommissioned Indian transport trucks, cut into panels and assembled by hand. Each panel is chosen for its grain and its weathering, then lightly sanded and left in a natural finish, so the knots, the cracks and the old marks stay where they are and no two cabinets come out alike.
