Each bracket is a flat strap: an upright plate drilled for two screws that goes against the wall, a return that runs under the board, and a short lip that turns up over the front edge to hold it. The wood is pale grey-brown, sawn rather than planed, and the face carries knots, splits and old marks. The 22cm depth suits jars and bowls, and boards or trays stand on edge.
