hydrangea-artificial-stem-73cm-purple
Hydrangea Artificial Stem 73cm - Purple

Description

This is a single artificial hydrangea stem in purple: one full, rounded flowerhead made up of many small four-petalled florets, each petal marked with fine veining. Two broad leaves sit just beneath the head, and a long, jointed stem runs down from them with a gentle kink near its base, much like a hydrangea cut straight from the garden. It stands 73cm tall and measures 18cm across, which gives it the presence of a generous bloom, so one stem holds its own in a vase without any company. It is made from 80% polyester, 10% iron and 10% polyethylene, and weighs 0.1KG.

Because it is artificial it does not wilt, so it suits the places where fresh flowers are hardest to keep going: a hallway console, a mantelpiece, a bedside table, or a guest room that sits empty for weeks at a time. At its full height it is a stem for a tall floor vase or a sideboard arrangement; trimmed shorter, it sits happily in a small bottle on a desk or a windowsill. It makes a thoughtful gift for someone who loves hydrangeas but has no garden in which to grow them, and it brings colour to a room in the months when the garden has little to offer.

The maker asks that it be handled with care, as the leaves and flowerhead can break if treated roughly. Before use, the stem must be trimmed and folded into place, so cut it to the height your vase needs and then fold the leaves and head until they sit naturally. We suggest letting the head rise just clear of the rim of a plain vase in stone, glass or ceramic, where the purple shows at its strongest against a quiet background; a single stem in a narrow bottle looks considered rather than sparse.

Specification

Height

73cm

Diameter

18cm

Material

80% Polyester, 10% Iron, 10% Polyethylene

Colour

Purple

Care

Handle with care to avoid breakage of the leaves/flowerheads.
