hull-outdoor-pendant-light-ip54-antique-brass
Hull Outdoor Pendant Light IP54 - Antique Brass

Description

The Hull is an outdoor pendant lantern hung on a chain from a round ceiling rose. Its body is solid brass in an antique brass finish, a dark, aged brown, and a wide flared hood sits over a clear ribbed glass shade with a rounded base. Ribbed glass softens the view of the lamp inside it, and there is no cage over the glass. The lantern itself is 16cm across and 23cm tall. Including the chain, it measures up to 83cm overall, and shortening the chain brings that down to 40cm for a low porch ceiling. It is rated IP54: protected against dust and against water splashed from any direction, which makes it a lantern for covered spots outside rather than one left open to the sky.

We would hang it in a porch, over a covered doorway or above a sheltered outdoor eating area. The maker names the porch and the place you eat outside as ideal spots for it, giving a warm, welcoming glow. The maker describes it as a fisherman's style lantern, made for places where a nautical or industrial look is wanted, and says the maritime influence shows in the materials, designs and names of the range. It suits a cottage porch, a house by the coast or a home with an industrial look.

The maker describes the finish as aged and original looking, so it starts with a settled tone rather than a bright polish. Solid brass darkens and mellows outdoors, adding to that character over the years. The cable enters at the top, and the lantern takes one E27 Edison screw lamp. It weighs 1.91KG. A mains light like this is installed by a qualified electrician, and it is worth deciding the drop before the day: measure from the ceiling to where you want the glass to sit, keeping in mind the 40cm to 83cm span the chain gives you.

Specification

Finish

Antique Brass

Material

Solid Brass

Diffuser

Clear Ribbed Glass

Lamp

1 x E27 (ES)

IP Rating

IP54

Diameter

16cm

Lantern Height

23cm

Max Height Including Chain

83cm

Min Height With Chain Shortened

40cm

Chain Length

50cm

Cable Entry

At the Top

Weight

1.91KG

Supply

230V ~ 50Hz

Protection Class

Class I

Certification

CE

Manufacturer's Warranty

2 Years

Downloads

Installation Instructions (PDF)

Frequently Asked

Can the Hull pendant hang outside in the open?

It is rated IP54, protected against dust and splashing water, so we would hang it somewhere covered, such as a porch, a covered doorway or a sheltered eating area.

What lamp does the Hull lantern take?

It takes one E27 lamp, also known as an ES or Edison screw, which sits inside the clear ribbed glass shade.

How long is the drop including the chain?

Including the chain it measures up to 83cm overall, and shortening the chain brings it down to 40cm.
