hull-guard-outdoor-pendant-light-ip54-antique-brass
Hull Guard Outdoor Pendant Light IP54 - Antique Brass

Description

The Hull Guard is a caged pendant lantern made from solid brass with an antique brass finish. A wide, flared hood sits over a clear ribbed glass shade, and a brass guard wraps the glass to shield it from knocks. The lantern is 16cm across and 23cm tall. On its chain it hangs at up to 83cm overall, or 40cm with the chain shortened. It is rated IP54, so it is protected against dust and against water splashed from any direction. That suits a covered spot outdoors rather than one open to driving rain.

The maker designed it for sheltered outdoor use and names porches, covered entrances and other sheltered spaces. That is where we would hang it: under a porch roof by the front door, over a covered side entrance or beneath a deep canopy. The adjustable drop earns its keep, since a low porch ceiling and a tall entrance call for different lengths. The maker says it takes its influence from traditional hanging marine lights, and that the maritime influence shows in the materials, designs and names of its range. It suits a coastal cottage, a period house or a plain modern porch alike.

The maker says it comes with a matching chain and ceiling cup, and that the cable connects through the rose at the top. The maker describes the finish as aged and original looking. Solid brass darkens and mellows outdoors, so expect the antique tone to deepen over the years. It takes one E27 (ES) lamp of up to 18W. The lamp is not included, so have one ready before it is hung. The lantern weighs 1.91KG, and like any mains light it should be installed by a qualified electrician. Because the lamp can be replaced, a spent bulb means a new lamp, not a new lantern.

Specification

Finish

Antique Brass

Material

Solid Brass

Diffuser

Clear Ribbed Glass

Lamp

1 x E27 (ES) 18W Max (Lamp Not Included)

IP Rating

IP54

Diameter

16cm

Lantern Height

23cm

Max Height Including Chain

83cm

Min Height With Chain Shortened

40cm

Chain Length

50cm

Weight

1.91KG

Supply

230V ~ 50Hz

Protection Class

Class I

Certification

CE & UKCA

Country of Origin

Greece

Manufacturer's Warranty

2 Years

Downloads

Installation Instructions (PDF)

Frequently Asked

Can the Hull Guard pendant hang outside?

Yes, in a sheltered spot.
