A slim black column on a flat round black disc base, with a chrome sleeve set into the top of the column and a bright chrome gooseneck rising out of it. The gooseneck bends over in a long easy curve and carries a small black cone head, open at its bottom edge, that can be pushed round to face wherever it is wanted. A second chrome collar sits lower down the column and carries the switch. The black is matt on the column, the base and the head, so the two chrome sections read as the working joints. The base is small and heavy and the lamp stands close against a chair.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt stands beside a chair or at the end of a sofa, where it puts one pool of light exactly where it is needed without lighting the whole space.
