A slim antique brass stem rising from a shallow domed brass base and curving over at the top into a small brass cone that hangs at an angle, open at its lower edge. The cone is short and straight-sided and its inside is brass too, so the whole head glows warm when the lamp is on. A plain turned joint breaks the stem partway up, where the upper section slides to set the height. The brass is a soft aged gold, the same tone on the base, the stem and the shade. The base is a low dome with a wide flat foot.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt stands beside a chair or at the end of a sofa, where it puts one pool of light exactly where it is needed without lighting the whole space.
