horatio-oval-bulkhead-light-ip64-satin-nickel
Horatio Oval Bulkhead Light IP64 - Satin Nickel

Description

The Horatio is an oval bulkhead light with a solid brass body finished in satin nickel, a soft, silvery metal finish with a gentle sheen rather than a mirror shine. Clear ribbed glass sits behind a stout cage of crossed bars, and four lugs stand out at the corners, giving it the look of a light built for a ship's deck. It measures 25cm long, 16cm wide and 16.5cm high. The IP64 rating is the figure that matters most outdoors: it means the light is dust-tight and protected from splashing water, so it can live on an exterior wall through British weather all year round.

Mount it beside a front door, inside a porch, along a garden wall or on the side of a boathouse. The maker says the range's maritime influence can be seen in its materials, designs and even its names, and the Horatio carries that look well: the cage and ribbed glass recall the lights once fitted on working boats. Satin nickel gives the nautical shape a cooler, quieter tone than bare brass, so it sits comfortably against white render, grey stone or painted brick, on a cottage by the coast or a modern house in town.

Under the satin nickel the body is solid brass, and the maker points out that brass has been trusted at sea for generations because it resists salt air and seawater. The cable can come in through a gland at the end or at the rear, and a brass blank is included to close whichever opening you leave unused. The maker also says individual components can be replaced if needed. It weighs 1.7KG, and like any mains light it should be installed by a qualified electrician. It takes one E27 (ES) lamp of up to 18W, which is not included, so have a bulb ready for fitting day.

Specification

Finish

Satin Nickel

Material

Solid Brass

Diffuser

Clear Ribbed Glass

Lamp

1 x E27 (ES) 18W Max (Lamp Not Included)

IP Rating

IP64

Width

16cm

Height

16.5cm

Length

25cm

Cable Entry

Cable Gland at the End or Rear (Brass Blank Included)

Weight

1.7KG

Supply

230V ~ 50Hz

Protection Class

Class I

Certification

CE

Country of Origin

Greece

Manufacturer's Warranty

2 Years

Downloads

Installation Instructions (PDF)

Frequently Asked

Can the Horatio bulkhead light be used outdoors?

Yes.
