horatio-junior-oval-bulkhead-light-ip64-raw-brass
Horatio Junior Oval Bulkhead Light IP64 - Raw Brass

Description

The Horatio Junior is a compact oval bulkhead light made from solid brass in a raw brass finish, with clear ribbed glass held behind a brass cage. Four wing clamps fasten the caged front to the body, giving it the plain, practical look of a working light. It measures 12.5cm wide, 21cm long and 13cm deep and weighs 1.4KG, a size that sits neatly beside a doorway without crowding it. The IP64 rating settles where it can go: it is dust-tight and protected from splashing water, so it lives outdoors in British weather all year round.

On the outside of a house it suits a front door, a porch or a garden wall, and it looks at home on a boathouse. The maker says the maritime influence shows in the range's materials, designs and names, and describes these bulkheads as designed for outdoor spots that call for an industrial or nautical effect. The maker also says this little light is often used indoors, lighting corridors and washrooms, and its modest size suits a hallway well. Because it is rated IP64, it can go in a bathroom too, where a qualified electrician will confirm the right zone. It suits anyone who wants plain, practical brass with a coastal feel rather than something polished and fussy.

Solid brass darkens and mellows outdoors, so the bright gold of a new light gradually deepens into a warmer, aged tone, and that slow change is much of the appeal. The cable enters through a gland at the end or at the rear, and a brass blank is included to replace the gland in whichever position goes unused, giving you a choice of cable route. It takes one E27 (ES) lamp of up to 18W, and the lamp is not included, so choose one when you order. As a mains light, it should be installed by a qualified electrician.

Specification

Finish

Raw Brass

Material

Solid Brass

Diffuser

Clear Ribbed Glass

Lamp

1 x E27 (ES) 18W Max (Lamp Not Included)

IP Rating

IP64

Width

12.5cm

Length

21cm

Depth

13cm

Cable Entry

Cable Gland at the End or Rear (Brass Blank Included)

Weight

1.4KG

Supply

230V ~ 50Hz

Protection Class

Class I

Certification

CE

Manufacturer's Warranty

2 Years

Downloads

Installation Instructions (PDF)

Frequently Asked

Can the Horatio Junior bulkhead go outdoors?

Yes.
