home-is-my-happy-place-houses-wooden-mantel-plaque-grey
Home Is My Happy Place Houses Wooden Mantel Plaque - Grey

Description

This wooden mantel plaque lines up six little houses, drawn in fine grey line, beneath a looping script that spells out the word home. Printed across the front below the rooftops are the words "IS MY happy place", so the whole piece reads "home IS MY happy place". Each house has a character of its own: one has a flower growing by its door, one stands tall with a scalloped roofline, another carries a trailing sprig of leaves, and small hearts are dotted all around them. The top edge follows the line of the roofs and chimneys, so the plaque looks like a little street rather than a plain block. The finish is a soft grey, with the drawings worked over a whitewashed wood grain, and the plaque measures 13.5cm tall, 22cm wide and 3cm deep.

At 22cm wide it sits comfortably on a mantelpiece, a deep windowsill, a bookshelf or a hallway console, and its 3cm depth means it fits on a narrow ledge where a deeper ornament would not. The soft grey and whitewashed tones settle easily into a calm, neutral scheme, a cottage-style living room or a cosy bedroom, and the gentle hand-drawn look keeps it quiet rather than loud. We like it set among candles and books on a mantel, where the looping word home catches the eye above the rooftops.

The plaque is wooden, with its design printed straight onto the front, and it stands upright on its own flat base, so it needs no hook or nail and can move from room to room as you please. To keep it looking fresh, dust it now and then with a soft dry cloth and keep it away from damp, as with any printed wood. Small enough to slip into a gift bag, it makes a gentle present with a warm message already written on it.

Specification

Material

Wood

Colour

Grey

Finish

Printed

Height

13.5cm

Width

22cm

Depth

3cm

Weight

0.3kg

Frequently Asked

How big is the houses mantel plaque?

It is 13.5cm tall, 22cm wide and 3cm deep, a neat size for a mantelpiece, a bookshelf or a deep windowsill.

What does the plaque say?

The word "home" runs in a looping script above the rooftops, with "IS MY happy place" printed beneath the row of six houses.

What is the plaque made of?

It is made of wood, with the houses, hearts and words printed onto the front in a soft grey line.

Does it stand up on its own?

Yes, it is a freestanding plaque that sits upright on its flat base, ready for a mantelpiece, shelf or windowsill without any fixings.

What colour is it?

It is a soft grey, with fine grey line drawings over a whitewashed wood grain that sits well in neutral and cottage-style rooms.

How do I look after it?

Dust it now and then with a soft dry cloth and keep it away from damp, as you would with any printed wooden piece.
