hiba-floral-stoneware-cups-320ml-set-of-2-multi
Hiba Floral Stoneware Cups 320ml Set of 2 - Multi

Description

These are two stoneware cups, each painted by hand with a little floral still life, so the pair arrives as a matched couple rather than identical twins. One cup carries a posy in a striped pot, the other a sprig of flowers in a rounded vase, and each has a contrasting handle and a painted band around its foot. The body is round and full, with a softly uneven rim, and each cup holds 320ml, which places it between a tea cup and a mug: room for a morning coffee without the height of a tall mug. Each one is 8.5cm across and 7.5cm tall.

They sit happily on the breakfast table, but they suit the living room just as well, set on a coffee table for a cup of tea at the end of the day. The low, rounded shape is comfortable to hold in both hands on a cold afternoon, and the size suits tea, coffee or hot chocolate. Because the two paintings differ, each person at the table has a cup of their own. As a pair they make a thoughtful gift for a couple, a new home or a friend who likes crockery with character, and the multicoloured painting brings warmth to an otherwise plain table.

Stoneware is a dense, hardwearing ceramic, and the care here is easy: these cups go in the dishwasher, in the microwave for reheating a drink that has gone cold, and in the oven. The decoration is handpainted, so the brushwork varies a little from piece to piece and carries the marks of the brush rather than the flat look of a printed transfer. They come as a set of two. For styling, keep the plates and bowls around them plain and undecorated so the floral paintings take the eye, or line both cups up on a tray with a jug of milk for a weekend breakfast.

Specification

Height

7.5cm

Diameter

8.5cm

Sold as

Set of 2

Material

100% Stoneware

Colour

Multi

Finish

Handpainted

Capacity

320ml

Dishwasher safe

Yes

Microwave safe

Yes

Oven safe

Yes

Food safe

Yes

Weight

0.38KG

Frequently Asked

How much does each cup hold?

Each cup holds 320ml, a good size for a full cup of tea, coffee or hot chocolate without the height of a tall mug.

Can the cups go in the dishwasher and the microwave?

Yes.
