heikki-stoneware-vase-24cm-cream
Heikki Stoneware Vase 24cm - Cream

Description

This is a stoneware vase with a full, rounded body that swells out to a wide shoulder before narrowing to a short, slightly flared neck. It stands 24cm tall and 20cm across at its widest, a size that sits comfortably on a shelf or side table without crowding it. Made from 100% stoneware, it weighs 1.81KG, which gives it a solid, settled feel on any surface. The cream body carries bold, curving leaf shapes brushed on in a swirling pattern, with a ring of small painted dabs around the neck just below the rim.

We like it on a hall console, a mantelpiece or a sideboard in the living room, where the painted leaves read clearly from across the room. The narrow neck gathers a loose bunch of dried grasses, seed heads or a few branches into a neat shape at the top. It is just as good left empty on a bookshelf or a deep windowsill, where its rounded outline does the work on its own. It also makes a thoughtful housewarming present for anyone who loves painted ceramics and a relaxed, collected look at home.

Each vase is hand decorated, so the brushwork varies a little from one piece to the next and yours will have a character all its own. Stoneware is fired at a high temperature, which makes it a dense, hard wearing material for everyday display. The surface has a soft shine that catches the light on the curves of the shoulder. For styling, set the cream body against warm wood or a pale plaster wall, and keep the stems loose and airy so the swirling leaves stay in view rather than hidden behind foliage.

Specification

Height

24cm

Diameter

20cm

Material

100% Stoneware

Colour

Cream

Finish

Hand decorated

Weight

1.81KG

Frequently Asked

How big is the vase?

It stands 24cm tall and measures 20cm across at its widest, a comfortable size for a mantelpiece, sideboard or shelf.

What is it made of?

It is made from 100% stoneware and is hand decorated with bold painted leaf shapes and a ring of small dabs around the neck.

How heavy is it?

It weighs 1.81KG, so it has a solid, settled feel and sits firmly on a shelf, console or table.

Will every vase look exactly the same?

Not exactly.
