hebden-striped-cotton-towels-pecan
Hebden Striped Cotton Towels - Pecan

Description

The Hebden towels are pure cotton towelling woven in a vertical stripe, the warm reddish-brown of pecan alternating with a soft cream ground. Cotton is what gives a towel its job: the looped terry pile holds a lot of water for its weight and lets go of it again in the wash, so a cotton towel absorbs quickly and stays absorbent over years of use. The stripe runs the length of the towel and is carried right through the pile rather than printed on the surface, so it reads the same on both faces. They come in a run of sizes, from a 50 x 90cm hand towel up through 70 x 130cm and 90 x 150cm to an extra-large bath sheet.

These suit a bathroom that leans warm and natural rather than stark white. The pecan and cream sit happily against wood, stone and plaster, and the vertical stripe adds a little structure to a plain tiled wall or an open shelf of folded towels. Pick the hand towel for beside a basin, the mid sizes for everyday drying, and the bath sheet where you want to wrap up fully after a bath or shower. Because the stripe is the same on both sides, they look considered folded over a rail or a stool with no wrong face to hide.

This is a substantial terry cloth with a plain woven border at the short ends, visible where the pile gives way to a flat band. Being all cotton, they wash and wear predictably and only soften with time and laundering. Fold them by the stripe and they stack neatly, the lines running straight down a shelf. The Hebden range shares this stripe across its towel sizes so you can mix a bath sheet with matching hand towels in one bathroom.

Specification

Material

100% cotton

Design

Vertical stripe, pecan and cream

Construction

Woven cotton terry with plain border

Size

50 x 90cm to 90 x 150cm, plus XL sheet

Country of origin

Not stated

Frequently Asked

What are the Hebden towels made from?

They are 100% cotton terry towelling, which is why they absorb water quickly and become softer the more you wash and use them.

Which size should I choose for drying after a bath?

The 90 x 150cm size and the extra-large sheet are the ones to wrap around fully, while the 50 x 90cm hand towel suits a basin.

Is the stripe the same on both sides?

Yes, the stripe is woven right through the pile rather than printed, so both faces of the towel carry the same pecan and cream pattern.

What colour is Pecan?

Pecan here is a warm reddish-brown, striped against a soft cream ground, so it reads as a natural warm tone rather than a stark contrast.

Do they come in matching sizes?

Yes, the Hebden stripe runs across the range of towel sizes, so you can pair a bath sheet with hand towels in the same bathroom.
