Made from 100% cotton, the pair comes in the standard 50 x 75cm housewife size, so it suits ordinary rectangular pillows without any hunting for an unusual fit. The stripe is the whole point here: closely spaced, hand-drawn in feel, and given a mottled melange character that keeps it from looking flat or mechanical. Cotton gives it a soft, crisp feel with a matt finish, which is the surface most people find easiest to sleep against.

This is a pair that leans quiet rather than loud, so it settles comfortably into a bedroom that is already busy or one you want to keep calm. The narrow warm stripe reads as texture from across the room and as pattern up close, which makes it easy to live with and easy to pair. It sits happily with plain cream, natural linen tones and pale wood, and it works just as well layered under a solid quilt as it does making the whole bed match. Because it is a two-pack, you have both sides of a double bed covered from a single order.

Each pillowcase closes with an envelope back, so the pillow stays tucked in without buttons or ties to fasten, and carries an Oxford border, the flat flange of fabric that frames the edge and gives the case a tailored line when it sits on the bed. Cotton is a natural fibre that washes well and takes a warm iron, so keeping the crisp look is straightforward. The Hebden name also runs across other bedding pieces in the same melange stripe, if you would like to build the look out further.

Specification

Material

100% cotton

Design

Printed melange stripe, pecan on cream

Construction

Envelope closure with Oxford border

Size

50 x 75cm

Sold as

Pair

Frequently Asked

What size pillows do these fit?

They measure 50 x 75cm, the standard UK housewife size, so they suit the ordinary rectangular pillows most beds already use.

How many pillowcases come in the pack?

This is a pair, so you receive two matching pillowcases, enough to cover both sides of a double bed from one order.

What is an Oxford border?

It is the flat flange of fabric that frames the edge of the case, giving it a tailored line where it lies on the bed.

How does the envelope closure work?

The back overlaps itself so the pillow tucks inside and stays put, with no buttons or ties to fasten each morning.

How should I care for cotton pillowcases?

Cotton is a natural fibre that washes well and takes a warm iron, which is how you keep the crisp, smooth surface it starts with.
