Each bauble is 8cm, capped with a fluted dark metal collar and a hanging ring, and hangs from a plain olive velvet ribbon.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eAt 8cm these are large enough to hang on their own along a branch rather than needing to be grouped, and the two patterns do different things with the light: the scales break it into small points, the ribs draw it into long vertical highlights. Four will dress a wreath or a garland as well as a tree. The ribbon folds over at the top, so it loops straight over a branch without a hook. All four hang along a branch, alternating between the two patterns.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe glass is recycled, melted down and blown by hand into a mould, which is where the scales and the ribs come from. Because the mould holds more glass in some places than others, the colour reads clear and bright where the wall is thin and cloudier where it is thick, and that falls differently on every bauble.
