happy-as-a-pig-in-printed-earthenware-mug-300ml-white
"Happy as a Pig in..." Printed Earthenware Mug 300ml - White

Description

This white earthenware mug carries a cheerful illustrated pig, standing on a patch of mud with a wide grin, big pink ears and muddy trotters, beside the words "happy as a pig in..." in a loose, friendly script. We love the way the caption trails off and leaves the punchline to whoever is holding the cup. Inside, the glaze is a soft pink that picks up the colour of the pig, and the gently rounded body narrows towards the base so it sits comfortably in the hand. It holds 300ml, a proper cup of tea or coffee, and stands 9cm tall and 9cm from front to back, a neat size for a kitchen cupboard shelf.

It is the mug that ends up at the front of the cupboard: the first tea of the morning, a coffee at the desk, a hot chocolate on a cold evening. The farmyard illustration feels at home in a country kitchen or on a dresser shelf alongside other country pottery, and it brings a little humour to a busy office or a staff room where everyone has their own cup. The pig is drawn with such good nature that the joke lands as warm rather than daft, and the unfinished caption tends to start a conversation over the kettle.

The mug is made from earthenware, a type of ceramic, with a smooth glossy glaze over the white body and the pink interior, and a large open handle with plenty of room for your fingers. As good practice for glazed earthenware, wash it by hand in warm soapy water and dry it with a soft cloth, which helps keep the print looking its best. Give it pride of place on the mug hooks, or wrap it with a box of good teabags or a bag of fresh coffee for a small, cheerful gift that will be used every day.

Specification

Material

Earthenware

Colour

White

Height

9cm

Depth

9cm

Weight

0.351kg

Capacity

300ml

Frequently Asked

How much does the pig mug hold?

It holds 300ml, which is a proper cup of tea or coffee without being too heavy to hold.

What is the mug made from?

It is made from earthenware, a type of ceramic, with a smooth glossy glaze over a white body and a soft pink interior.

What does the writing on the mug say?

It reads "happy as a pig in..." in a friendly black script beside an illustrated pig standing happily in a patch of mud.

How big is the mug?

It stands 9cm tall and measures 9cm from front to back, so it sits neatly on most kitchen cupboard shelves.

How should I look after the mug?

As good practice for glazed earthenware, we suggest washing it by hand in warm soapy water and drying it with a soft cloth.

Would this mug make a good gift?

Yes, it makes a cheerful small gift on its own, or wrapped with a box of teabags or a bag of good coffee.
