The words are set in grey lettering on the black of the stone, framed by a banner across the top, a row of five small stars, curling scrollwork down each side and a flourish beneath, much like an old pub sign or a vintage bottle label. It measures 10cm across each side and 1cm thick, a comfortable size for a pint glass, a tumbler or a bottle of beer, and its edges are left rough and natural, giving it a rugged look on the table.

It belongs wherever drinks are poured and tall tales are told: on a home bar, beside the armchair, on a games room shelf or across the kitchen table when friends come round for the evening. The dark slate and grey lettering sit happily with wood, leather and dark metal, so it suits a den, a snug or a dining room with a traditional, pub-like feel. As a present it raises a smile with very little fuss, a lighthearted choice for anyone with a few legendary evenings behind them and plenty more ahead, and it makes a good small extra to wrap alongside a bottle of something good.

The coaster is a single flat square of slate, with the lettering on its face and nothing to assemble or fit, so it simply sits on any table or bar top ready for a glass. Looking after it is easy: wipe the face with a damp cloth after a spill, let it dry fully, and dust it now and then with a soft dry cloth to keep the grey lettering crisp against the black. We like it beside a favourite glass on the home bar, where the next round of stories can begin.

Specification

Colour

Black

Size

10 x 10cm

Depth

1cm

Weight

0.122kg

Frequently Asked

What size is the coaster?

It is 10cm across each side and 1cm thick, a square that comfortably takes a pint glass, a tumbler or a bottle.

What is the coaster made of?

It is made of slate, a natural stone with a black face, and its edges are left rough and natural rather than cut perfectly straight.

What does the coaster say?

It reads "Hangovers are forgotten, drunk stories make legends" in grey vintage lettering, framed with a banner, five small stars and curling scrollwork.

What colour is the coaster?

The slate is black and the lettering and decoration are a soft grey, so the words stand out clearly against the dark face.

How should I clean the slate coaster?

Wipe it with a damp cloth after any spill and let it dry fully, then dust it now and then with a soft dry cloth.

Does this coaster make a good gift?

Yes, its cheerful saying makes it a lighthearted present for anyone who enjoys a drink and a good story shared with friends.
