hamida-fish-wooden-storage-box-with-lid-brown
Hamida Fish Wooden Storage Box with Lid - Brown

Description

Hamida is a brown wooden storage box with a lid, made from reclaimed wood in the shape of a fish. Chevron lines are cut across the lid like scales, finishing in a notched tail, while an upright wooden piece stands at the opposite end. It is 25cm long and 9cm wide, a slim, low box sized for the small things that otherwise drift around a dressing table, and at 0.32KG it is easy to move with one hand. Swing the lid aside and a divider splits the base into two compartments, so a chain can sit apart from rings.

Its natural home is a dressing table or bedside table, where it keeps rings, earrings and a necklace or two together and close at hand. It works just as well on a hallway console, holding keys, coins and hair clips by the door, and on a desk it gathers paper clips, spare pins and a USB stick. Being long and narrow, it fits along the front of a shelf or the edge of a console where a deeper box would crowd the space. The fish shape earns it a place among books, vases and candlesticks, so it reads as a decorative piece first and as storage second. It also makes a thoughtful housewarming present, or a gift for someone whose jewellery never stays in one place.

Reclaimed wood carries the marks of its earlier life, so grain, knots and small cracks vary from box to box, and no two look quite the same. The lid sits flat on the base and swings sideways to open, turning at the end with the upright piece, which opens both compartments in one easy movement. For styling, lay it lengthways on a shelf with the tail facing outwards, or angle it on a tray beside a candlestick, where light from the side picks out the chevron lines.

Specification

Width

9cm

Length

25cm

Height

5cm

Material

100% Reclaimed Wood

Colour

Brown

Weight

0.32KG

Frequently Asked

What is the Hamida box made from?

It is made from 100% reclaimed wood, so the grain, knots and small cracks differ from one box to the next and each has its own character.

How big is it?

It is 25cm long and 9cm wide, a slim shape that sits neatly on a dressing table, a bedside table or along the front of a shelf, and it weighs 0.32KG.

Is the inside divided?

Yes.
