The glass is a warm matt cream and the bubbles read as soft shading rather than as cut edges. It hangs from a low black domed cap with a black braided flex above it. The bottom of the ball is left open. Lit, each blister picks up its own highlight, so the surface breaks the light into small points. It is generous in size. It measures 25cm across and 12cm tall.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt suits a table, an island or a hallway, hung low enough to be looked at rather than into. Hang it so the bottom of the shade sits about 80cm above the surface, a little higher if people walk beneath it rather than sit under it. Hung at that height the shade is read as an object in the room rather than as a source, and the light lands on the table instead of in the eyes of the people round it.
