grand-tiller-outdoor-wall-lantern-ip64-satin-nickel
Grand Tiller Outdoor Wall Lantern IP64 - Satin Nickel

Description

The Grand Tiller is a caged outdoor wall lantern made from solid brass and finished in satin nickel, a soft silvery sheen. A flared hood sits over clear ribbed glass, a protective cage wraps around the glass, and the whole lantern hangs from a sturdy arm with a ring at its crown. It is 16cm wide and 29cm tall, stands 22cm out from the wall on a round wall plate 9.5cm across, and weighs 2.6KG. It is rated IP64: dust-tight and protected from splashing water from any direction, which means it lives outdoors through British weather.

The maker suggests it for either side of a doorway or gateway, and we agree: a pair either side of a front door, a porch or a garden gate gives a house a proper welcome after dark. The maker designed this range of wall lights for outdoor places where an industrial or nautical effect is wanted, and says the maritime influence shows in the range's materials, designs and names. Satin nickel takes that seafaring look somewhere cooler and quieter than bare brass, so it sits as happily beside a grey front door or slate cladding as it does on a cottage near the coast. The maker describes these lights as rugged yet discreet.

Beneath the satin nickel the body is solid brass, and the maker says brass dome head nuts lock the lantern onto its weatherproof backing plate. The cable enters at the rear through the wall plate, so nothing needs to run across the face of your wall. It takes one E27 lamp, the large Edison screw (ES), so choosing the colour and brightness of the bulb is up to you. A mains light like this is installed by a qualified electrician. Before you order a pair, check the space either side of the door: at 22cm deep, it wants to sit clear of a door swinging open.

Specification

Finish

Satin Nickel

Material

Solid Brass

Diffuser

Clear Ribbed Glass

Lamp

1 x E27 (ES)

IP Rating

IP64

Width

16cm

Height

29cm

Projection

22cm

Wall Plate

9.5cm

Cable Entry

At the Rear

Weight

2.6KG

Supply

230V ~ 50Hz

Protection Class

Class I

Certification

CE

Manufacturer's Warranty

2 Years

Downloads

Installation Instructions (PDF)

Frequently Asked

Can the Grand Tiller go outside in the rain?

Yes.
