grand-cabin-round-bulkhead-light-ip64-raw-brass
Grand Cabin Round Bulkhead Light IP64 - Raw Brass

Description

The Grand Cabin is a round porthole bulkhead light in solid brass with a raw brass finish, and a grid cage across its clear ribbed glass. The cage earns its place: the maker describes it as a cover for extra protection, which is worth having by a busy entrance. Three lugs stand proud of the rim, and the ribbing on the glass radiates from the centre like a starburst. It is 24cm across and 10cm deep, so it gives a house front a generous presence without jutting far from the wall. It is rated IP64, which means it is dust-tight and protected from splashing water, so it can stay outdoors in British weather all year.

We would put it beside a front door, in a porch, on a garden wall or along a covered passageway, and the maker has the front of a building and the passage of an inn in mind. It suits a coastal cottage, a boathouse or a town house with a nautical leaning. The maker describes these bulkheads as made for outdoor places where an industrial or nautical effect is wanted, and says the maritime influence shows in the range's materials, designs and names. With its IP64 rating, it can also go in a bathroom, where a qualified electrician will confirm the right zone.

Solid brass darkens and mellows outdoors, so this light will grow warmer and deeper in tone as it ages with the house. The cable enters through a gland at the end or the rear, with a brass blank supplied to take the place of the gland at the unused entry, so a cable can come straight out of the wall or run along its surface. It takes one E27 (ES) lamp of up to 18W, not included, and weighs 1.86KG. It is a mains light, so have it installed by a qualified electrician, and order your lamp alongside it.

Specification

Finish

Raw Brass

Material

Solid Brass

Diffuser

Clear Ribbed Glass

Lamp

1 x E27 (ES) 18W Max (Lamp Not Included)

IP Rating

IP64

Diameter

24cm

Depth

10cm

Cable Entry

Cable Gland at the End or Rear (Brass Blank Included)

Weight

1.86KG

Supply

230V ~ 50Hz

Protection Class

Class I

Certification

CE & UKCA

Country of Origin

Greece

Manufacturer's Warranty

2 Years

Downloads

Installation Instructions (PDF)

Frequently Asked

Can this bulkhead light stay outside all year?

Yes.
