gosmelle-led-downlight-16-6cm-chrome
Gosmelle LED Downlight 16.6cm - Chrome

Description

The Gosmelle LED downlight is a round recessed ceiling light, with a bright chrome steel bezel framing a flat white plastic diffuser. It measures 16.6cm across and needs a recess depth of just 2.6cm, which helps where the space above the ceiling is tight. The LED is integrated, so there is no bulb to replace, and it draws 11W to give 1,350lm at 3000K, a warm white that feels comfortable in a home. It is rated IP44, which means it is protected from splashing water, so it can go where steam and splashes are part of daily life.

We would put it in a kitchen, a hallway, a landing or a bathroom, and in a bathroom a qualified electrician will confirm the right zone. It also suits an alcove or the ceiling above a window seat, where a pair of downlights gives a reading corner a generous, even light. The chrome rim catches the eye without fuss and sits neatly in a white or painted ceiling, while the white diffuser softens the LED into a smooth glow rather than a harsh point. For anyone replacing tired old downlights, the shallow recess and the 1,350lm output make it a practical, bright upgrade.

The body is steel with a chrome finish, the diffuser is white plastic, and the whole fitting weighs 0.344KG packed. It is not dimmable and has no switch of its own, so it is switched at the wall by an ordinary on and off switch rather than a dimmer. It runs on 220-240V, 50/60Hz mains and has an energy class of E. As a wired-in mains light, it is installed by a qualified electrician. Before ordering, check the ceiling: it needs a cut-out of 15.5cm, and the installation instructions come as a PDF download.

Specification

Diameter

16.6cm

Body Material

Steel

Body Colour

Chrome

Shade Material

Plastic

Shade Colour

White

Light Source

LED, integrated

Wattage

11W

Lumens

1,350lm

Colour Temperature

3000K

Dimmable

No

Switch

None (switched at the wall)

IP Rating

IP44

Protection Class

Class II

Voltage

220-240V, 50/60Hz

Energy Class

E

Recess Depth

2.6cm

Cut-Out

15.5cm

Weight (packed)

0.344KG

Downloads

Installation Instructions (PDF)

Frequently Asked

Can the Gosmelle downlight go in a bathroom?

Yes.
