gingham-check-polyester-throw-yellow
Gingham Check Polyester Throw - Yellow

Description

This is a fleece throw carrying a gingham check pattern, made from 100% polyester and measuring 130 x 150cm. The check is the point of it: a small, even grid of pale yellow and white squares printed across a plush, short-pile fleece. Polyester fleece is what gives a throw this particular character, it is light for its warmth, it holds no moisture to speak of, and the pile traps air close to you rather than relying on weight. If you have handled a heavy wool throw and found it more effort than comfort, this is the opposite kind of thing.

At 130 x 150cm it is a proper single-person throw rather than a token square. That is enough to cover you lengthways on a sofa with room to tuck your feet under, or to lay across the foot of a double bed as a top layer for chilly nights. The pastel yellow reads as soft and warm rather than bright, so it sits happily in a bedroom, a nursery, a snug or a living room without fighting whatever else is in the room. Gingham is a forgiving pattern to place, it works with plain linens and with other soft checks, and it does not demand a whole scheme built around it.

The fleece is a printed pile, so the check sits on a surface that is soft to the touch on both faces. Being polyester, it washes and dries easily and comes back to its shape without fuss, which matters on a throw that gets pulled about, sat on and dragged from room to room. Fold it over an armchair when it is not in use and it holds a tidy line. If you like this yellow, the same gingham check runs in other pastel shades, so a household can carry the look across more than one room.

Specification

Material

100% polyester

Design

Printed gingham check

Construction

Fleece pile

Size

130 x 150cm

Frequently Asked

What is this throw made from?

It is 100% polyester fleece, a soft short-pile fabric that is light for the warmth it gives and holds very little moisture.

How big is it and what will it cover?

It measures 130 x 150cm, which is a single-person size, enough to wrap around you on the sofa or lay across the foot of a double bed.

Is the gingham pattern printed or woven in?

The check is printed onto the fleece surface, so it sits on a soft pile that is pleasant to the touch on both faces of the throw.

Where does a throw like this suit best?

The soft pastel yellow works in a bedroom, nursery, snug or living room, and gingham pairs easily with plain fabrics and other soft checks.

Does the yellow come in other colours?

Yes, the same gingham check fleece runs in other pastel shades, so you can carry the look across more than one room if you wish.
