The sides run steeply from a narrow base out to the rim, and a hand-cut band of etching wraps the edge, cutting through to lighter wood so the band reads paler than the surface it sits in.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eTwelve centimetres of depth at 30.5cm across is a serving bowl rather than a table bowl: salad for eight, with room to turn it. At 1.04kg empty it is a two-hand carry once it is full.
