gal-ribbed-glass-flush-ceiling-light-ip65
Gal Ribbed Glass Flush Ceiling Light IP65

Description

The Gal is a flush ceiling light that sits close to the ceiling, with a wide, shallow shade of ribbed glass over an exposed bulb. The ribs run out from the centre to the rim, so the glass catches the light and spreads it softly across the room. It is made of brass and glass, 24cm tall and 30cm across, and it comes in seven finishes: Polished Brass, Antique Brass, Antique Silver, Natural Brass, Matt Black, White and Satin Brass. The Matt Black is RAL 9005 and the White is RAL 9010. The shade comes in Clear or Opal glass, so you can choose an open, sparkling light or a gentler, more diffused glow.

Rated IP65, the Gal suits a bathroom, and it is as much at home in a hallway. At 24cm tall it keeps close to the ceiling, so it works well in a hallway or a bathroom where a hanging pendant would feel in the way, while its 30cm width still gives the light a generous spread. The brass finishes bring warmth to a period hallway or a traditional bathroom, Antique Silver sits well with pale tiles and chrome taps, and Matt Black or White give a cleaner, more graphic look in a modern room. Clear glass shows off the bulb; Opal softens it into an even glow.

Each Gal is made to order for you in Ireland from brass and glass, built in the finish and glass you choose. The maker guarantees the fittings it makes for five years from the date of purchase; bulbs are not covered. Bulbs are sold separately: the Gal takes one E27 bulb, up to 6.5W per bulb, and as the bulb hangs in plain sight beneath the shade, it is worth choosing one you will enjoy looking at. The fitting is wired in to the mains, so it is a job for a qualified electrician to install.
