frimorne-wooden-pendant-light-black
Frimorne Wooden Pendant Light - Black

Description

The Frimorne is a wooden pendant light with a layered shade: a wide, open disc of fine wooden slats, a smaller ring set beneath it, and a slatted drum that sits around the bulb. The wood has a warm honey tone, and the ceiling rose and lampholder are black steel, joined by a black cable, which gives the natural shade a crisp outline against the ceiling. It measures 57cm across and 110cm tall overall. It takes a standard E27 screw-cap bulb, which is not included, so you choose the brightness and colour of light yourself. It is rated IP20, which means it belongs indoors in a dry room.

A shade this wide needs room around it, and we think it looks most at home hung over a dining table or in the centre of a living room. The broad top disc reads clearly from across the room, and the open slats let light pass between them, so the shade looks airy rather than solid. It suits homes with natural textures, plants and timber furniture, and the black details tie in well with black chairs, picture frames or door handles. For anyone who likes natural shades but wants a flatter, more open shape than a basket or dome, this is a good choice.

The body is steel and the shade is wood, and the whole light weighs 0.76KG, so the shade is easy to handle while it is being hung. Wood is a natural material, and its grain varies from piece to piece. There is no switch on the light itself, as it is controlled from your wall switch. It is a hard-wired mains light for a 220-240V, 50/60Hz supply, so it should be installed by a qualified electrician. The installation instructions come as a download. Have an E27 bulb ready and the light can be used from the first evening.

Specification

Body Material

Steel

Body Colour

Black

Shade Material

Wood

Shade Colour

Brown

IP Rating

IP20

Light Source

E27 (bulb not included)

Overall Height

110cm

Diameter

57cm

Weight

0.76KG

Protection Class

Class II

Voltage

220-240V, 50/60Hz

Operating Voltage

220-240V, 50/60Hz

Switch

None (switched at the wall)

Downloads

Installation Instructions (PDF)

Frequently Asked

Can the Frimorne pendant go in a bathroom?

No. It is rated IP20, which means it is meant for dry indoor rooms such as a dining room or living room, away from water.

Is a bulb included?

A bulb is not included.
