fralvessa-4-light-ceiling-light-black
Fralvessa 4 Light Ceiling Light - Black

Description

The Fralvessa is a square ceiling light that holds four cylindrical glass shades on a flat black steel plate. It is 38cm long, 38cm wide and 17cm high, so it sits close to the ceiling and keeps its depth modest. The shades are vapourised glass in a black-transparent tint that reads as a smoky grey, softening the glow of each bulb while keeping the lamp itself visible. Each shade takes an E27 bulb of up to 40W, and the bulbs are not included, which leaves the colour and style of light entirely your choice. It is rated IP20, which settles where it goes: indoors, in dry rooms.

Four lights from one ceiling point make it a good choice for a living room, dining room, bedroom or study, wherever you want light spread across the room rather than gathered under a single shade. The square plate lines up neatly with the walls, and the black steel sits comfortably alongside dark metal shelving, warm wood and plenty of greenery, while against a pale ceiling it gives the room a clear focal point. With a height of just 17cm, it also suits rooms with lower ceilings, where a hanging pendant would sit too low and crowd the space. The smoky glass suits anyone who likes an industrial or modern look without the hard edge of bare bulbs.

The body is steel in a black finish and the four shades are glass. Glass wipes clean with a soft cloth, which keeps the smoky tint looking clear. There is no switch on the light itself, as it is switched at the wall. It runs on a 220-240V, 50/60Hz mains supply and, as a wired-in mains light, it is installed by a qualified electrician. Packed, it weighs 3.691KG, worth knowing when you plan the job. Have four E27 bulbs of up to 40W ready on the day, since none come in the box.

Specification

Length

38cm

Width

38cm

Height

17cm

Body Material

Steel

Body Colour

Black

Shade Material

Glass vaporised

Shade Colour

Black-transparent

Light Source

E27 (bulb not included)

Wattage

Max 4 x 40W

Switch

None (switched at the wall)

IP Rating

IP20

Protection Class

Class I

Voltage

220-240V, 50/60Hz

Weight (packed)

3.691KG

Frequently Asked

Can this ceiling light go in a bathroom?

No. It is rated IP20, which means it is meant for indoor rooms that stay dry, so a bathroom or any outdoor spot is not the right place for it.

Which bulbs does it take?

Each of the four shades takes an E27 bulb of up to 40W.
