foxtail-artificial-stem-brown
Foxtail Artificial Stem - Brown

Description

This is one artificial foxtail stem in brown, standing 91cm tall, with a long, plain stem that branches near its tip into several fine tassels. Those tassels are what make it: thick with small beads and soft fibres along their whole length, they arch over and fall in loose, uneven strands, so the piece reads as a trailing shape rather than an upright one. It is made of polyethylene and iron and weighs 0.04KG, so it adds almost nothing to the weight of a vase or a mixed arrangement.

At 91cm tall it has the height for a floor vase or a deep vessel on a sideboard, console table or wide windowsill, where the tassels have room to hang clear of the rim. On its own in a tall, narrow vase it gives a quiet, sculptural line to a hallway or a bare corner of a living room. Tucked into a bouquet of faux flowers it brings movement, spilling over one side while the other stems point upwards. Because it is artificial there is nothing to wilt, so it can stay in place from one season to the next in a bedroom, study or dining room.

The maker's care note is short and worth following. Before use, the stem should be trimmed and folded into place: cut it to suit the height of your vase, then bend the tassels gently into the drape you want. Handle it with care, as the flowerheads can break if treated roughly. The styling props shown are not included. For a practical styling note, set it slightly off centre so the tassels fall over one edge of the vase, and pair it with one or two upright stems to set off its trailing line.

Specification

Height

91cm

Diameter

8cm

Material

Polyethylene, Iron

Colour

Brown

Care

Handle with care to avoid breakage of the leaves/flowerheads.
