fosna-bird-resin-candle-holder-brass
Fosna Bird Resin Candle Holder - Brass

Description

This candle holder is cast in polyresin as a perched bird, its wing feathers carved in overlapping layers and its tail swept up and fanned behind it. A small cup rises from the bird's back to take a single taper candle, and the whole figure sits on a rounded pedestal with a stepped foot. It stands 16.5cm tall, 12cm long and 8.5cm wide, a compact size that fits a narrow shelf or a busy table without crowding it. The brass colour has an aged, worn look, rubbed back on the raised feathers so the carving reads clearly from across a room.

Set it on a mantelpiece, a console or a windowsill, where the bird is seen in profile. It suits the Christmas table and the festive window, among greenery and other candlesticks, yet nothing about the bird is seasonal, so it can stay out throughout the year on a dresser or a hall table. At 16.5cm tall it adds height to a low arrangement, and a pair would frame a mirror or a fireplace neatly. It also makes a thoughtful present for anyone who loves birds, antique-style brass or a traditional room.

The holder is 100% polyresin with a lacquer finish. Polyresin is cast in moulds, which lets detail as fine as single feathers show in a piece this size, and at 0.31KG it is light enough to carry from room to room with ease. The lacquer gives the surface a soft sheen over the aged brass colour. The styling props shown are not included, the candle among them. Fit it with a plain taper candle so the bird stays the focus, and group it with taller candlesticks of varied heights for a relaxed, layered arrangement on a sideboard or a deep sill.

Specification

Width

8.5cm

Length

12cm

Height

16.5cm

Material

100% Polyresin

Colour

Brass

Finish

Lacquer

Weight

0.31KG

Frequently Asked

What material is the candle holder?

It is made of 100% polyresin with a lacquer finish, cast as a bird with moulded feathers sitting on a rounded pedestal base.

How big is it?

It is 16.5cm tall, 12cm long and 8.5cm wide, and it weighs 0.31KG, so it sits comfortably on a mantelpiece or a narrow shelf.

What kind of candle does it take?

The cup on the bird's back holds a single slim taper candle.
